B.A.M. - Beauty Art Music 2008

BAM

BAM! POW! Just like great comic art, B.A.M., a night of Beauty, Art and Music will pack an exciting visual punch. The event will take place on September 12, 2008, 8:00p.m. – 2:00a.m., at the Aggie Theater, as a fundraiser for the Fort Collins Museum of Contemporary Art (FCMOCA). The evening will feature fashion, art and music for all ages.

“The event was a blast”, says local artist Taylor Gallegos about his experience last year. Not only a full night of fun, but raising needed funds for FCMOCA - the only private, nonprofit art museum in Fort Collins. “I did a live painting onstage and I definitely wanted to be involved again this year. We are going to have great local bands, more accomplished artists, and a better group of local contributing fashion companies”, he says.

B.A.M. aspires to be even better and bigger: a full cultural experience to promote the appreciation of contemporary art through all ages. Artists Jay Paul Apodaca, Carlos Ruiz, Brandon Bullard and Taylor Gallegos have confirmed their presence and will paint live for the audience. Chainsaw Mama will take a tree stump and transform it into a piece of sculpture.

Des Tours, Safe Haven, Soul Feel, Caleb Riley and DJs complete the festival feel with performances throughout the evening. Fashion shows run throughout the night ending in the latest swimsuit trends. A “Costume Competition” will happen early in the evening, and everyone is invited to exercise their creative side.

Make sure to get your tickets early. Tickets are $10 and $8 for students and FCMOCA members.
