children's art programs

Children's art classes with an emphasis on creative expression:
Drawing, Painting, Collage, Sculpture and more!

Children's Art Workshop with Stephie Morton is an art class where children are encouraged to express their ideas and inner vision through art. Great effort is made to provide an environment that is positive, pressure-free and non-competitive so that each child can feel comfortable enough to explore his/her full creative potential.

During a session children will:
- discover many different art materials
- become aware of basic formal principles in art
such as line, form, shape and color
- learn to recognize and appreciate the work of many great artists
- develop greater skill in drawing and painting
- visit FCMOCA galleries regularly for inspiration and instruction
- participate in an important Art Show

Children's Art Workshop welcomes each child as an artist worthy of respect. It is our goal to nurture self esteem by providing a rich, fun, success-oriented art experience and to bring joy through the discovery and celebration of the creative self.

Downtown Mural Project: Music in the Streets!
Make your mark! Be seen! And paint the town literally by becoming a part of the Downtown Mural Project. This summer’s theme “Music in the Streets” will fuel the fire for workshop artists to collaborate and paint a 16-foot mural to become a permanent fixture in the downtown art scene. Each individual artist will also create a personal mini mural for home. During the workshop we will explore other artists inspired by music, attend a concert on Oak Street Plaza, and meet local musicians. Upon the completion of the mural, all the participating artists will be honored at a special unveiling celebration. Dance over to FCMOCA for a summer filled with music and art!
